"Barbe Noire" is one of the four "Barbe" beers. The name of the "Barbe" range of beers refers to the Liegeoise brewery "Barbe d'Or". The Brasserie Barbe d'Or was a medieval brewery in the old town of Liège (Belgium) and belonged to the "de Romsée" family, a former Liège family whose coat of arms adorns the "Barbe" beer logo.
"Barbe Noire" is a Belgian Stout. "Barbe Noire" is a high fermentation beer. Its color is dark, almost black. "Barbe Noire" has a solid collar. The taste is balanced and holds the middle between sweet, creamy and bitter. "Barbe Noire" is brewed with deeply roasted malt. The exquisite selection of hops gives the "Barbe Noire" its pleasant bitterness. "Barbe Noire" has an alcohol content of 9.0% alc.
